The Waterfront and the newer estates out towards Highlight Park are the easy end. Modern consumer units with spare capacity, allocated parking or a driveway, and the meter usually somewhere sensible. Those are a half-day install with a short cable run and no board work.
Barry Town, Cadoxton and the streets behind Holton Road are a different conversation, and it is worth being blunt about it: a great deal of that Victorian and Edwardian terrace stock has no off-street parking at all. If your car lives on the street, a home charger is not the right answer, whatever you have read online. Where a terrace does have a rear lane garage, a yard or a converted front garden, it is very doable — it just means a longer internal cable run, and the run is what drives the price rather than the postcode.
