Positioning is the decision that matters most and it is worth thinking about at the survey rather than settling on the day. A west or south-west facing wall takes the worst of the weather off the Channel. Where there is a choice, tucking the unit onto a sheltered elevation or under an overhang costs nothing extra at install and adds years to its life.
The housing itself is mixed. The newer developments around the edges of the town are straightforward. The older seafront property and the terraces nearer the centre bring the familiar combination of an ageing board and parking that is not where the meter is. Both get established at survey and priced properly, including any board work, before you commit.
